Practice

Niki is a multidisciplinary circus artist from Chile, based in Montreal.

His artistic research explores the intersection between acrobatics, juggling and dance — investigating how the body and objects can coexist, interrupt and transform one another.

His practice combines technical versatility with a deeply physical approach to movement, shaped by more than fifteen years of acrobatic exploration and thirteen years of juggling.

About

How I became who I am

Niki is a Chilean multidisciplinary circus artist based in Montreal.

I grew up exploring movement through parkour, tricking and acrobatics, long before I thought of any of it as an artistic practice.

Juggling came later, out of the need to make a living on the streets. What started as a way to survive eventually became another language — and over time, these different worlds began to collide, leading me to perform with companies and collectives that connected with my work.

Today, my practice lives somewhere between acrobatics, juggling and movement.

I’m interested in what happens when technique stops being the destination and becomes a tool for play, expression and connection.

Much of my path has been self-taught, shaped by curiosity, experimentation and a constant desire to discover new ways of moving.

I’m still looking. That’s part of the work.
